Resources: Recommended books

Let’s stay at home to stop the COVID-19! For better handling, we recommend three books on artificial intelligence. Reading makes time fly by and increases our knowledge. Which one are you going to read?
We recommend the following 😊:
We also leave you a link to the best books on artificial intelligence to read. We hope you like the suggestions and that you take advantage of this time at home to read to increase your knowledge and enjoy adventures without leaving the couch.

Resources: YouTube documentaries

Youtube is an internet portal that allows us to view or upload content. On this platform there are a large number of documentaries and videos that explain artificial intelligence from different points of view. Here are some links so that you can enjoy them:
The documentary series on artificial intelligence presented by Robert Downey Junior.
The real story about where AI technology was born, in a chapter of “Bloomberg”.
In this series host Jabril Ashe will teach you the logic behind AI by tracing its history and examining how it’s being used today. #ArtificialIntelligence is a big world to know, shall we start?

Resources: Films

The film industry has used the world of robotics and artificial intelligence as part of the plot of its films. Many films are not true to reality, while others provide us with wonderful information on these topics. Here are a few recommendations for you to enjoy an afternoon of popcorn and learning:

Ex Machina

A young programmer is selected to participate in a ground-breaking experiment in synthetic intelligence by evaluating the human qualities of a highly advanced humanoid A.I.

Alita: Battle Angel

A deactivated cyborg's revived, but can't remember anything of her past and goes on a quest to find out who she is.

Blade Runner 2049

Young Blade Runner K's discovery of a long-buried secret leads him to track down former Blade Runner Rick Deckard, who's been missing for thirty years.

Walle-E

In the distant future, a small waste-collecting robot inadvertently embarks on a space journey that will ultimately decide the fate of mankind.

I am mother

In the wake of humanity's extinction, a teenage girl is raised by a robot designed to repopulate the earth. But their unique bond is threatened when an inexplicable stranger arrives with alarming news.

Big Hero 6

A special bond develops between plus-sized inflatable robot Baymax and prodigy Hiro Hamada, who together team up with a group of friends to form a band of high-tech heroes.

Teaching Unit 2

The objective of this TU is not to show all the possible sensors and actuators that can be used in AI, but to understand how to apply some of the most relevant and start thinking about the type of smart applications that can be developed with them.
To this end, in the current TU, students will develop a smartphone app that uses the three most important sensors in AI, cameras, microphones and tactile screens, as well as two very relevant actuators, speakers and LCD screens. With them, students will create a simple but useful app that exploits human-machine interaction to capture and show information to the user in a natural way. This app will be improved in the next TU, so its real utility will be clear then.

Teaching Unit 1

This first teaching unit (TU) presents a general overview of the AI topics that will be covered in the curriculum. Students will receive an introduction to them, with the aim of providing a first view of all the themes involved in AI. Some of these topics are shared with other disciplines like robotics or programming, and students should be familiar with them, but others are new at this educational level because they require an important technological and mathematical background. This is why, in this curriculum, we have decided to introduce all the AI topics gradually, with more than one TU devoted to the same topic at different levels.
